Ian Black, Managing Partner
Ian is a Canadian business leader, known for work in building high-growth companies. He founded Rundle to help Canadian businesses successfully transition owners and grow into industry-defining companies.

Ian leads Rundle and chairs its Investment Committee. He actively oversees Rundle’s investments, and chairs the Board of Iris Booth.

Previously, Ian led Shopify Retail, Uber Eats and Uber Canada, helping build these industry-changing services into billion dollar businesses. He previously worked at Bain & Company in their strategy and private equity practices.

Ian lives in Toronto with his wife and two children. He serves as a board director and advisor to growth-oriented companies, and is a volunteer with St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. He attended Queen's University (Economics) and INSEAD (MBA).

Buster Shier, Sr. Associate
Buster is an experienced investor with a successful track-record in private equity, investment banking, and entrepreneurial ventures. He joined Rundle to support the growth of great Canadian companies.

Buster leads the sourcing and execution of Rundle’s investments, as well as its supporting Rundle's portfolio companies.

Prior to Rundle, Buster co-founded Companion Pet Partners, which was successfully acquired. He also held positions at CPS Capital and BMO Capital Markets, where he developed his expertise in private equity investing.

Buster holds an MBA from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, where he distinguished himself by winning multiple competitions.
